More like they don't want to deal with the class action lawsuit from people who bought m4 macs a generation prematurely due to the failed promise of AI.This can only mean that the "pesky" upgraded more intelligent "Siri" is coming out then. They dont want to showcase hardware without a significant upgrade to the OS.
It's TSMC that will take the blame now if they can't move to new nodes on scheduleMaybe they cannot keep up the pace of cpu advancement and want to stretch it out. They cannot blame IBM or Intel anymore.
My best guess is that, since they come up with a new iPhone chip every year, the M series would also fall in that line. Every 1.5 years didn't seem to align with the annual improvements of the A series. The M1 was a great chip. The M4 is an amazing chip. Why do we need a new number every year? Oh.... Publicity? Whatever. My M1 and M4 are both rocking.
A slight delay isn’t a problem for me.
I’m quite satisfied with my M3 Pro MacBook.
That said, when will Apple finally release a MacBook with 5G?
I’d love to use my MacBook without relying on Wi-Fi or tethering it to my iPhone
- just open it up and be instantly connected to the internet.
So you’re counting the processor as a new feature?God forbid Apple actually introduce TWO new features at once! I mean, what kind of rocket science would it take to put an M5 chip AND an OLED display in the same model year? Typical Apple.
Are you suggesting they shouldn’t release an M5 or M6?The M1 was a great chip. The M4 is an amazing chip. Why do we need a new number every year? Oh.... Publicity? Whatever. My M1 and M4 are both rocking.
Please, no.Will be called M26
Apple did exactly this in 2023 when it debuted the M2 MBPs in January and the M3 models in October. And during the Intel era it became somewhat common to have early and late year models of a given machine.Alternatively, Apple could debut the M5 MacBook Pro in early 2026 and the OLED version in late 2026, but that would be unusual.
Given how short the range of a real 5G signal is I can't imagine how short-ranged a 7G would be.I am afraid that by the time they release a MacBook with 5G, others are already using 6G or 7G.
I also hope this is wrong. I upgraded my MacBook Air 13" to the 15" M2 when it came out. and 6 months later they came out with a 15" MacBook Air with a M3. So wrong.Really hope this is wrong.
Was waiting for the M5 to come out to finally upgrade. (Well, waiting for this Mac to hit the lowest age I usually feel like replacing - at least 5 years)
Hard to justify paying the current price for a year old model, that could be replaced tomorrow, or not.
Grumble.
