When are they going to stop goofing around and discontinue the Mac Pro? It is still on M2 and still $7k.
Well, current reporting suggests no Mac Pro upgrade with the M5 chip in 2026, and that Apple has ”no plans” and has “lost interest” in the Mac Pro. If it ain’t dead, Jim, it’s dying. And truthfully, as a creative pro, my needs … and budget… are far better served by a Mac Studio, when some inevitable mission critical software update makes my perfectly functional and pampered, massive upgraded classic Mac Pro 5,1 towers into space heater/doorstops.

Given that the very architecture of the Apple Silicon SoC utterly precludes external GPUs, and RAM upgrades, and the majority of PCIe expansion — it’s moment has passed.

I have every expectation that Apple will “soft” discontinue the MP, no more upgrades, no more mentions, (already gone from Product Lineup images) and eventually, it will, without announcement, quietly fade off their web site.

In case you're living under the rock, Apple has ended Mac Pro a couple of months ago.

Not sure if trolling but you realize this person posted that back in November right? Like 5 months BEFORE it was discontinued lol.

You are quoting a post I made in November of 2025. The Mac Pro was not discontinued then. Perhaps it is you under the rock?
