About time! I thought this years M5 iPad Pro would come with one. Although now that I think about it, the Apple logo has copper for a better heat transfer, since the M4 iPad Pro.

But now… now I think: what about the MacBook Air? It’s been demonstrated that the M5 consumes more power and need a higher heat dissipation… so from my point of view, the M5 MBA will be the perfect time to equip a vapor chamber to better dissipate heat.

A "Pro" iPad should have an SD Card port IMO.
And a 3.5mm headphone jack.
We keep enjoying the USB-C to SD Card reader dongles. Honestly, SD Card slots are a wasted input on MacBook Pro as this is meant for photographers and creative illustrators for those that need storage on the go. No one uses it.
I doubt anyone enjoys using a dongle when they want to grab a video from their GoPro. Apple's marketing is all about creative use. You are applying your use case to everyone else.
That would make it thicker and heavier, defeating the purpose of the iPad. To me, it makes sense that the MBP is the thickest Mac, while the iPad Pro is the thinnest iPad, they’re maximizing different areas.
Yes, the current iPad Pro is the thin one, and the 13" the thinnest Apple device (which I just got and I love), but IMHO, the sleek iPad that sacrifices utility for thinness should called the Air and the Pro should be thick enough for ample battery and the ports that creative types need.

I really hope it doesn't mean the iPad Pro is going to get thicker. But if it has to, I wouldn't mind seeing the iPad Air get similar treatment as the iPhone Air (keep it thin and light, Face ID, 120Hz display...) I feel like thats what most people would want from a tablet.

Now I just need a reason to actually use the processing power of my new M5 iPad Pro.

Apple, put an optimized version of macOS on iPad!

I know I can do a lot with iOS 26, and you keep adding window management and other features. But there is still no way that I can use it to replace my (Windows) laptop, so my heavy tasks are done elsewhere.

Ah, Apple always copying Samsung, who introduced it two years ago in their Tab S9 series. ;)

Yes, Samsung invented vapor chambers. I'm sure that's where they got the idea from, Samsung, yes. It's Apple who is obseessed with Samsung, not the other way around. Totally.

Why not CFexpress Type B?
I terms of thickness SD Card make more sense, but sure, what not both. I don't know the relative popularity of one verses the other globally, so I guess that would come into the conversation. Less dongles the better, though from my POV

Return the M5 NOW!!!!

I was in an Apple Store on Wednesday. While waiting to be helped, I checked out the M5 iPad. They are really nice devices and much faster than my M1 iPad Pro. I was tempted. But then I remembered that I don't do anything that pushes the M1 hard enough to justify an M5. I don't think that will change when the M6 iPads come out. The temptation may remain, but hopefully rational thought will too.

Haven’t we reached the point where we do not need more CPU or memory - just better code?
If just a few percent of the MASSIVE computepower (not to mention energy and costs) thrown into pointless “AI” chatbots were used to create AI’s that could massively optimize the code written these days, we could go back to anno 2018 hardware and still have much faster phones, pads, computers and what not.
You are lucky! Those are available everywhere and very affordable. Likewise, old technology will be there for you to enjoy always!
