Why not CFexpress Type B?
Because type A is smaller and modern Sony mirrorless use it.

But that’s also a good point. The only slot that universally covers everyone’s needs is USB-C, and the iPad Pro already has it.

Am I the only one who wants to see them bring MagSafe to the iPad Pro!? It would mean much less wear and tear on the USB C port. (Alternately dual USB C ports would be awesome.) it would make the iPad Pro less of an anchor if someone breaks the charging port. They could either use MagSafe from the iPad or they could use the MacBook version. But either way the iPad is one of those devices that sometimes it’s pick up and go sometimes you leave it plugged in. But it would be awesome to not have to try and slot a fragile USB C port in every time you’re done using it portably.

They always mention "better power efficiency" at each chip iteration, but for some reason it always translate to "more heating". Now Apple wants their products to work for the hive, giving their tireless toil to Queen AI.

We keep enjoying the USB-C to SD Card reader dongles. Honestly, SD Card slots are a wasted input on MacBook Pro as this is meant for photographers and creative illustrators for those that need storage on the go. No one uses it.
I hate to say it but that space and channels could be another usb port or thunderbolt port anything, the HDMI is far more useful, I would love to see a NIC back on board but I know I am asking for to much

It’s weird that this site and others post every single thing Mark Gurman writes in his subscription newsletter yet Gurman and Bloomberg apparently have no problem with it. A cynic might wonder if everyone is getting a cut of the profits.

I'm hoping they will do same for MBA, it already has 30%+ throttling. But knowing Apple, they will probably want this laptop to be worse to sell more MBPs.

have the m5's even started shipping yet?

I feel like ipads are one line that definitely doesn't need a yearly update.

99% of all ipads i see out in the wild are either:

a) in the hands of a toddler watching cocomelon while their parents eat at a restaurant
b) a POS (point of sale :p) used simply for ringing up people's purchases at a cashier

Very occassionally i see someone taking notes in a meeting with one; but they're simply outnumbered by people taking notes on their laptops or notes in their paper notebooks.

I get that there's a niche of people out there that use it in their workflow; but i feel like that niche is pretty small; and certainly not upgrading yearly.

some folks around here..are saying that the M5 ipad pro runs 1C cooler than M4 after 10 min of full blown

Yes but the real world isn't stress tests. It's actually doing stuff

Running a game like Genshin Impact on max settings will make an M1 iPad Pro very, very hot because it's going full tilt

Running that same scenario on an M5 iPad and it doesn't even get slightly warm, because it doesn't have to try very hard to do it

Apple is planning to bring an iPhone 17 Pro-style vapor chamber to the iPad Pro, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

In the latest edition of his "Power On" newsletter, Gurman explained that with increasingly powerful chips, Apple is planning to bring vapor chamber cooling to the iPad Pro. The new feature could arrive as soon as with the next generation, which will likely feature the "M6" chip made with TSMC's 2-nanometer process. The liquid cooling system would help mitigate throttling, especially as the iPad Pro becomes more capable at handling intense workflows.

If the move to bring a vapor chamber to the iPhone and iPad Pro prove successful, Apple could turn its attention to bringing the technology to other passively cooled devices like the MacBook Air. Apple is now seemingly operating an approximate 18-month refresh cycle for the iPad Pro, so next-generation model should arrive in the spring of 2027, according to Gurman.

When can apple make iPads with thinner bezels? I'd definitely buy it.

The M5 based MacBook Pro seems to need it with just one fan and notable thermal throttling, so a fanless MacBook Air M5 could definitely use it. The M series SoC is considerably larger than the A19 Pro chip. They can be as big as 300 x 400 mm, so it should be doable. I don't know the length and width of a M5.

Always withholding features I see. The the lack of feature parity between iPhone and iPad and Mac is annoying.

When iPhone 13 Pro came out with the smaller notch, the MacBook Pro still had the larger one—why! Since then, the notch hasn't changed on the Mac.

Ah, Apple always copying Samsung, who introduced it two years ago in their Tab S9 series. ;)
It’s called competition. With time, proven technologies will be implemented by all competitors. This development is only beneficial for us, the consumers.

Interesting. Might be needed as the future chips may end up producing more heat. Apple might probably slim down the bezels for the next version. Also would like to see some colors or at least one bright color for iPad Pro.
