Finally, I have had a chance to test the HD on other system - namely on Classic II - and to my big surprise there were no problems to install system on it, boot, and work. What that means? Broken SCSI controller on classic? Problems wit power supply?

I have similar problem with my Macintosh Classic.

The only difference is that my HD after mounting in Macintosh II causes the same error (no boot)
but when I mount HD from Macintosh II to Classic - everything is ok, the computer boots from HD (80 mb) and also floppy drive works properly.

So, Im very curious how your case with HD ended.
