Hang on... I thought you said you had OS X installed already?

If so, you just need to run software update.

Also, your CD drive should be a DVD-ROM

Yeah it sounds like you only have a CD drive and Tiger is a DVD, so you'll need to install a DVD drive or install from another Mac via firewire.

Ok, so yestarday i tryed like everything to make it work, i do have a Mac os x and mac os 9 cd/dvd bootable but no matter what i do its just doesen't boot and it apears a black screen with the blue icon in the midle with question mark and the other thing like a face.Is there a way to check if my hard drive its working? and yes on my hard drive i tryed to instal linux debian maybe thats why i can't instal mac now?

How do you know you have a DVD drive and not just a cd drive?

So you also have OS 9 (which is a cd) and it won't boot either?

I saw that its a DVD after the proctection when u open it, and mac os x i got it on dvd and mac 9 on cd

Mac OS X 10.4 is the latest version of Mac OS X.

The other numbers after 10.4 are minor revisions, basically large updates or 'service packs'.

Its threads like these...

...that make me feel warm inside. Lets get this guy booting to 10.4.10 (legally).

Do you have an external FireWire drive? OR do you have a friend with a working PPC Mac? Either of these can help A LOT should our suggestions not help.
