Does anyone know what is the maximum hdd size that the mac mini 2012 accepts inside? I currently have Samsung 850 Pro in along the original 1 TB Apple HDD. I believe the Samsung SSD is only 7mm tall and I wonder if I could fit 15mm along the Samsung SSD by replacing the 1 TB Apple HDD with 4 TB Seagate HDD?

I'm pretty sure that max is 9.5mm for each drive in the mini, but seems simple to make a block 15MM thick, and see if you can fit that in the vertical space...

Hede has done it with a 15mm 5tb hdd and 7mm ssd, just that you can put screws on it and go on the grommets which doesn't really matter since there is no much space left to move
