I've struggled with this now over the last couple of years, and across 3 mac minis: i5, i7, and M1. There is no one solution,

I use Wifi all the time, in addition to cabled net, and have never known that to be a problem.

I always mention it because both Bluetooth and WiFi use 2.4ghz (and can potentially interfere with each other).

Don't forget if you have a smart home then you have zigbee and thread as well.

I'm convinced it's the mini as my beats solo work fine but the range is appalling.

Are you trying to help?
Well, you're not helping.
Please explain what you mean.

Zigbee and thread also use the 2.4ghz frequency that "may" contribute to the issue, commonly used for apple's homekit.

mac mini & bluetooth headphones, range == bad.
iphone & bluetooth headphone, range == good.

So in my home I have various 2.4ghz protocols going on and the issues I have is with the mini.
