Your conclusion that "the 2018 Mini has deep flaws in the circuitry" really doesn't match my own experience (but maybe I'm just lucky?). I also have the 10gb ethernet option but only use it at 1gb speed - no problems there, but I've seen other reports about issues.

The flaws are likely related to unstable power delivery, and may occur so randomly and only under specific conditions as to be nigh untraceable except in a controlled laboratory setting.

I had a problem with my Synology NAS once, where it reported intermittent power issues on all four drives at a rate of multiple times per hour. The probability of four drives having the exact same issue is near zero, or about as likely as the Trinity A-bomb would have triggered an uncontrolled chain reaction that set fire to the atmosphere.

As soon as I replaced the power supply to the NAS, the issue went away. I suspect it was a failing capacitor in the DC power adaptor causing a voltage fluctuation on the 12V rail.

Something similar might be happening here on the Mac mini, and all the power circuitry is inside the computer.
