Yes, it was brand new (silver). It had been bought two days ago, opened, then returned. I insisted on drilling the manager: was it "refurbished"? No. Was it used? No. Just opened.

I guess they prefer to simply mark down the returns 10%. For instance, they had a regular and a wireless keyboard available -- both marked down 10% (I picked up the regular one, though I probably should have bought the Bluetooth one, as well. I only saved $3 on the keyboard, but hey, the $3 covered .3% of the cost of the monitor!)

EDIT: I just saw on the Macrumors homepage that the price of some of the add-ons for the mini have come down. I went to Apple site and checked by order status -- and sure enough, the price of my new mini has been lowered! 🙂

Yea, like your 12" PB.... 🙄

oi cheeky!

I don't do anything seriously on my powerbook, its far to low res to get any serious work done. I just use it for presentations, taking stuff places and linking it to screens. Being a graphic design student it means that during crits with tutors i no longer have to waste ink and paper printing stuff out. I just take my powerbook and show the actual files. its good, yes but not a spot on my g5.

Just came back from the Mall and had a chance to see the Mac mini firsthand at the Apple Store (went looking for the VGA adapter for the eMac - non in stock). No wonder everyone seems to want one! It is smaller than the pictures make it out to be. Very quiet too.

Good thing they were out of stock of the Mac mini though. I might have broken down and gotten one before the release of Tiger as I had planned. 🙄
