Do know if it would be ok to do it the other way round? Buy the upgrade for one computer but also use it on the computer eligible for the up-to date disk?
This is kinda funny. Like everywhere else, the online Apple Store in Japan was "closed" during the update earlier today. However, although the Japan store is now back online, there is nothing on the front page of Apple's Japan site touting Snow Leopard like you see on the Apple US site.
Maybe Apple considers it "old news" in Japan, being as though Mac Minis are already shipping with Snow Leopard here.

Less than a $10 US difference. So? For many decades it has been the reverse (greater dollar value than the pound). When the economies fell into disarray and the dollar value fell people from over there started coming here to shop, just as we did there for all those years. Point being businesses still need to make a profit and price accordingly. You are not getting the proverbial shaft. If you would like, support our economy and shop here£25 in the UK, $29 in the US.
£25 is $41.26.
Even with tax on the US price, this is a bit of a disparity...
Is it possible to do full-clean-install of Snow Leopard with the UtD 9$ disk (for MacBooks bought after june)?
I had the same question. I called the Apple Sales number and they said it was possible to do a clean install without having Leopard or Snow Leopard pre-installed with the UTD disc.
Awesome, can't wait to get my hands on it. Is it just me, or are the advertising graphics way better? I mean... if we look at Aurora (that's the name of the Leopard wallpaper, right?), it's so bloated, full of things which distract your attention. But this snow leopard wallpaper is awesome. Clean, nice, and simple. I'm lovin' it. Again, can't wait for it to be available in Romania
