Hi Everyone,
I’ve some very strange behaviour happening with my 2018 Mac mini.
When I’m clicking in finder windows, safari search bar in fact any window my mouse doesn’t react as it should.
It’s difficult to explain but the attached clip will show you.
I’ve reinstalled the OS, changed mice and still it’s made no difference.
I thought it was overheating but it does it from cold too!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mac mini plural never had a really good BT connection as things got better but still....MEH!
my Mac mini M1 needs a mouse shake and tap every day.

this is simply because Tim does not own Mac minis, and will not.

Might help if you include what brand and model mice you have tried. All bluetooth mice? Any wired mice? Let me guess .. Logitech mice?

Hi, Flyman –

I'm trying to understand what's happening.

From the video, what appears to be happening is that you're clicking in the text field to cause it to become focused. Within a second or two, it becomes unfocused without any apparent cause.

Is that what you're trying to show?

I wouldn't necessarily assume this is related to the mouse. (Perhaps a misfiring key on the keyboard, or some other device, or some other software function on the Mac is not behaving as expected?)

If, as @Starfia conjectures, the problem is that the active window is losing focus mysteriously, you might want to read this thread:
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/active-window-loses-focus.2321723/

Different users found different software to be at fault, but one of the common culprits in the thread was Logitech software. It would steal the focus away from the active window.

My post https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/active-window-loses-focus.2321723/?post=31742015#post-31742015 describes how you can use a Python "virtual environment" and script to track down the mysterious focus-stealing program. It seemed to work for several people.
