Experienced MB users please help. I've done several researches about battery & still confused: is this okay to plug in charger any time, at any level & not defect the battery life & cycle? I'm afraid by doing this, the battery will get used to the fact & will not full charge. What is the best method to prolong your battery, beside calibrate once a month? I have 8 cycles, 1 week old MB.
Thanks a bunch.

hndn, I recommmend just using it like you usually would. Plug it in whenever you have the chance to; it should last you a good couple years.

For me, I averaged about 1 cycle every 3-4 days (I try to leaved it plugged in all the time). Leaving it hooked up with the battery still in is fine too...I haven't had any big issues with my MBP. Its best by keeping the cycle counts down by charging it at the same time as usuing it.

You'll typically want to run your battery down until about ~20% or so before you charge it to get optimal performance per charge cycle. That's what I try to do with my MacBook Air (The Pro tends to stay on the charger 24/7) and it still is at 94% health after 171 cycles, so it seems to work pretty good for me. Although you shouldn't let this control when you charge your laptop, as it is a consumable product, but will last you a good amount of time.
