If Apple wasn't going to release a 10.4.11 with Leopard-compatibility stuff (see 10.3.9) in it, *that* would be an interesting rumor. This one is "stuff everybody already assumed was true".
The update is probably more for the benefit of Leopard users. It will probably smooth things out so that Leopard can talk to Tiger easier and maybe some of the features such as screen sharing are going to be involved in the update.
It is needed, the Finder keep hogging my CPU after a few days of uptime if I try to relaunch it quits but does not start up again until I force a re-boot
i realllly hope this means new mac minis soon, or at least something to replace the mini... i've been trying to convince my best friend since 2 years to buy a mac... 2 years! but now he is SO CLOSE to buying a replacement PC for his wall mounted LCD... sacrilege!!!!
What does it matter that does your friend buy a Mac or not? If he prefers or needs a PC, that's his choice. Remember folks: Whenever you convince someone to do something, you are then in a way responsible for that decision. If the Mac didn't work out for him, he could start complaining that "it was you who convinced me to buy this junk! Thanks a lot dude!"
Um, no, that makes no sense. The number that comes after "10" is "11". 10.4.10.1 would imply a minor update for 10.4.10, something that Apple generally does not distribute. (Though there was that one incident with, what was it, 10.2.8? Even then I'm not sure if they renamed the fixed version, maybe because they have enough dots already. )
