Hello,

can someone tell me what ways this early version of OS X can be used ? It looks radically kewl and want to know what it could still be used for. I have a Titanium PB 1Ghz G4 and Pismo - will it work on those ? I also saw it has blue box 8.6 Mac OS.

I have successfully installed OS X Server 1.2v3 on my PowerMac G4 Sawtooth with its original ATI Rage 128 GPU. I had no particular use for it, but wanted to see the best of Rhapsody in action. The full screen Mac OS 8.6 BlueBox is very cool.

I installed the included Developer Tools to try out some early NextStep / YellowBox Objective-C - much of which evolved into the basis of Mac OS X's Cocoa / AppKit Framework.

It's possible to write simple GUI apps which compile on Rhapsody and Mac OS X with only very minimal framework re-linking. But once you go beyond basic UI interactions, OS X Cocoa developed things much, much further.

Unfortunately, your Titanium and Pismo are not supported. Check the laptop compatibility list here:
