Hi This is my first post so forgive me if I am talking rubbish.

I have Mac Pro 1,1 that i successfully piked and it is happily running El Capitan (10.11).

I decided i wanted it to use wifi so i bought and installed a compatible airport card.

It was not instantly recognised by the system as i had hoped. I have spent hours looking for the ~/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration folder but it does not exist and there are no airport plist files anywhere.

When i check the system report under Network - Wi-Fi it shows
CorewLAN: 11.0(1100.19)
CorewLANKit: 11.0(1100.19)
Menu Extra: 11.0(1101.30)
System Information: 11.0(1100.1)
IO80211 Family: 11.0(1100.23)
Diagnostics: 5.0(500.83)
Airport Utility: 6.3.6(636.5)

so i'm guessing that it can see the hardware in some way.

When i boot into my previous install (osx Lion) it instantly notices the wifi and allows me to setup and connect! browse web pages etc.

Is there something about the pikify process that removes my ability to install and use Wi-Fi on elcapitan?

any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Mike

Sorry bud, I have the same issue. It just wont work. Causes my El Cap to freeze up. Does recognize it but won't connect at all. Wifi works on my other boot drive (Mavericks) Gave up 2 years ago and just hardwired my internet. And gave up on my dream of using bluetooth keyboard + mouse :(

Thinking of building a PC. Yup, I said it.

get an Apple branded BCM94321MC - this is the card shipped with the Mac Pro 3.1 and Wifi enabled 1.1 / 2.1 - plus I built a lot of 2006 Mac Pros with working wifi with that card.
