Well you did say side on which I posted, thats the top view, my card has exactly the same plastic cover as that one.

I thought that it was obvious what I meant. I wanted to see it with my own eyes.
You have been posting bits & pieces photos of the card.
You can try this ROM at your own risk & possibly with the same results as before with Bios set to position #2
Use AtiWinflash in Windows to flash the card.
After the flash, shut down remove the cMP power cord for one minute and cold boot using the CONSECUTIVE TRIPLE CHIME NVRAM re-set.

Well I finally managed it, and you gonna want to slap me sooooo hard when you find out what I was doing wrong, I didn't have Java installed!
And the reason was these two,
if you forward to 5:34 you see they get the Java error so I stupidly assumed this was normal, NO it is not normal, I installed Java ran the script according to instructions and a bundle from MIKX as below
./makerom.sh --efifile=7970mac.efi --romfile=efiromheader_7970.rom --originalrom=cardname.rom --devid=6798
Flashed it and now I have dual screens AND boot screen just like I wanted and no extra power needed from SATA, again thank you all you for your help and thank you for your patience (even though it probably ran out in the end)
And I also attached the photo of the card you wanted, and also the original and modded roms if anyone is interested (use at your own risk) 😉
You will be pleased to hear I have replaced the hideous spray painted cover and fans with parts from a dead card I found on eBay.

No extra power needed it's been running for hours, and I have run Unigine benchmark on max settings about 10 times in a row, no problems here 😉

I DO use the EVGa PowerLink connected to the 7970 to 'balance' ALL the power supplied to the PowerLink to the GPU . . . the Dual SATA to ONE 6 pin cable is connected to the PowerLink as shown in the photo I posted.
In case you do not understand . .
Power to the PowerLink.
1. From MacPro Dual Mini 6 pin cable to PowerLink 8 pin socket.
2. From the Mac Pro. DUAL SATA to ONE 6pin cable to the PowerLink 6 pin socket.
And mine is still working perfectly all day every day to this day with no extra power, I really don't see what all the fuss is about 😉
