Hello, was wondering if someone could clarify this for me .

Is selection of GPU dependant on OS or boot firmware ?

I wish to upgrade my Mac soon, and have decided to upgrade the boot firmware to the latest Mojave’s version in order to get NVMe boot however I’d like to keep high Sierra running for my software, but im unsure if the GPU “Asus GTX titan X” will work under highsierra with a Mojave’s firmware ?

Any help would be appreciated ! Thanks

See this thread, especially first post:

----

140.0.0.0.0 and previous macOS releases note:
Since a lot of people ask this question: firmware 140.0.0.0.0 can boot even 10.6.8, but only if your GPU has drivers for it.
And from my understanding the Asus gtx titan X will work with high Sierra , therefore I can have an NVMe boot and use titan x as my GPU under high Sierra .
