Hey,

I'm planning on replacing the AMD D300 graphics cards (crap) in my 6,1 to D500's that I have bought already (yep not easy to find....) but I do need suggestions on replacing the thermal pads that would need to be replaced to finish the job - you can see this fella changing the pads at 06:00 timecode on this vid (
) I'd like to use the same pads if poss - or something equivalent...the 6,1 is notorious for having heat issues so wouldn't want to use a pad that is under-spec'd...any help appreciated!

Maybe nobody responded because the question about the thermal pads has been asked before a few times. The part number for them is in the technician manual posted in this thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/mac-pro-cylinder-led-diagnostics.2231524/. It's listed in the section on replacing the GPUs.

The thermal pads are different for the D500 Tahiti GPUs than for the D300 Pitcairn GPUs. You will need to order 2 sets of 4 from an Apple parts supplier.

Where did you find the graphics cards? That is a miracle in itself...
