when i first read the title for this I thought it was some new Samuel L Jackson movie...

seriously though, the pelican cases are fantastic, but there are plenty of others too. Their cases really are waterproof, i got swimming with my 5d mark 2 all the time! (photos from behind waterfalls, etc)

Ups!

+1 for UPS.

To the OP...I live in southern CA and go to college in Boston. Last year, because I couldn't afford to sell it and buy a laptop, I shipped my Mac Pro w/ UPS. With insurance up to $3500 and shipping it was right around $100. I shipped it in my original box w/ the styrofoam and everything. It got there in perfect condition. Best $100 for shipping I've ever spent. Do yourself a favor and ship it.

Be careful with LCDs though, i assume you would be shipping one too. It's ether Fedex or UPS, i forget which one, but one of them does not cover damage done to LCDs (even if you pay for insurance) so make sure you double check that.

Am I too late to add the snarky

"I'm tired of these motherf*%$in Mac Pro's on this motherf@#$in plane!!" comment? 😱

Instead of that side loading Pelican case, I've seen many folks use the top-loader configuration; I think that configuration is also a bit smaller because it does not leave room for a keyboard or any accessories. Just a though.

Whatever you do, don't check it.
