To those of you saying that FedEx will not leave the box on your doorstep: you're mistaken. It depends on your relationship with your FedEx delivery person. When I lived in Indiana my FedEx guy knew me well. He left my PowerMac G5 on my doorstep, albeit slightly obscured by a plant.

It might not be keeping with their policy / Apple's demands, which might offer recourse, but if your FedEx guy knows you well enough / knows that you want your packages left, he/she will likely leave it.

Just saying.

I definitely don't want to get to know my FedEx guy if he will leave my computer on the doorsteps when no one is home.

In the final analysis, if FedEx leaves your computer on your doorsteps and someone steals it, then FedEx will have to replace it. In the 2 instances in which I've had something that UPS left on my doorstep when no one was home (and I guess they were stolen), I called the 2 vendors and they immediately expressed shipped me 2 new items and said they would have UPS reimbursement them. I got my 2 packages and never heard any more about either of the two.

Now a dishonest person could say they never got the original item that was left on their doorsteps and they could have 2 for the price of one. Most people are honest, but I'm just saying.......

I have never had any problems with FedEx, there have been a few problems with their tracking site being inaccurate, but the actual delivery has never been poor.

I told my wife that I'll be taking photos when the Pro arrives next week. All she could do was shake her head while walking away. :D

I unpacked mine today with the wife at work, for some reason it felt rather dirty.

Oh and it comes in a huge black box with Mac Pro written all over it and images. Trying to carry that thing up teo flights of stairs to our flat was a nightmare.

But well worth the hassle though. From a G4 to this is something of a slight change.
