One possibility to include TB is half-MP, where storage slots remain, but pci slots are ditched.
Another option would be dedicated pci slot for GPU, which is wired to TB chip.
Also it's possible that they could use some proprietary slot or socket for GPU. What would be catchy name? "Fireball"?
Or they could just solder GPU to MP just like with RAM...

i wasn't sure if this rumor is true or not ...

you guys gotta be the judge ...

lol. If that does turn out then it'd be the final nail in the coffin from a pro user standpoint.

Intel continues to push I/O as the next revolution in performance, with PCI-E 3, more lanes, integrated controllers, caches. Apple would be moving in the opposite direction. Worse I/O performance, expandability, etc.

Great if they introduce such a product but not at the expense of a professional machine.

All the processing power is on the network. You as a user won't need any Expensive laptop or computer.
We are installing a Nvidia Grid so Photoshop Classes and CAD will be using that for Graphics Apps.

If anyone doubts me ask to go on a TOUR of your local College/Hospital. Or if you are in College you must be using this technology already because my son is at his School as other Colleges I have toured. Most High Schools just don't have the money or people working there with the Know How about it. And in College you just install the Client. I will be able to control what software the kids use by the classes they take.

You lost me at "Chrome Books". :/

Google Translate couldn't turn this into English for me - maybe it was confused by the random use of capital letters.

Well, since the new MP will have Xeon E5 CPUs and TB 2 it seems that we have our answer. Doesn't need an iGPU.

Being that the processors have not launched yet we don't know..but it appears thing have been let loose at this point. It's be nice to see some AMD TB..

Did you miss the keynote and have you not looked at the new MP page on Apple's site?

Not sure why you're still questioning or denying this, you also never provided any links backing up your initial statement.

Apple wouldn't announce a device and specs that didn't exist or wouldn't work. Time to move on.

I stopped after the MP, but I have moved on..

Decisions decisions :p

It is only, specifically for high-end video production.

Now that's just silly.

Have you ever been to an ad agency? Tell those designers to get rid of their mac pros and dual monitors and get an iMac.

I guarantee you the "high end" video production users make up a extremely small percentage of all mac pro sales.

Actually it has 2 iGPUs. I hope you like AMD FirePro. That is the choice that has been made.

Just hope they get the cost down. Right now a pair FirePro 6GB cards will cost about $6400. They're not paying retail of course but its also a custom PCB. Wonder if they'll be able to keep this under $8k.

No their discreet, I still haven't see any schematics that pull the video signal from the discreet. TB 2 is obviously different than TB.

Please read the discussion, "may as well" doesn't make it an actual iGPU.
