5 weeks to the day after I ordered, I finally got shipping confirmation last night. FedEx will be delivering today! Hope everyone who's been waiting gets similar good news soon!

Well ... the Apple rep yesterday said my Mac Pro was moved into production. How long does it take them to build it? My credit card has not been pre-authorised either.

Is "in production" different from "being built"? Maybe the rep didn't know what she was talking about. My ESD is getting awfully close. I don't want them to miss it for a second time ...

BTW: I have been frequenting this forum and several others watching excited people report theirs ship/arrive. From what I can tell all the Aug 7 orders have been fulfilled. Anyone who ordered right after the keynote still waiting for theirs to ship?

Mine shipped yesterday also and had the exact same thing happen to it. Maybe one of the FedEx employees was in a bad mood and took it out on the bar code labels 🙂

I'm camped out 5 feet from my front door anxiously looking for the fedex truck. My wife had to go run some errands so I had to step out of my office for a few minutes (working from home)

The worst part is that there are some big construction going on nearby and every once in a while they rev up their engine like a delivery truck sound and you jump up looking heh.

Better than Christmas 🙂

Don't get your hopes up - mine still isn't here. I was supposed to have overnight shipping but that fell thru and got stuck with ground. Below is a screen shoot of the fedex tracking.

After calling fedex they said that they have no clue where it is or when I will recieve it and that they are currently doing a ground trace.

Those numbers are skewed. If you look in the details of the system setups, you will see that they used an identical video card for each system. At first glance this appears to be a good thing. Unfortunately, they chose the Radeon X1900 XTX - A Crossfire Card! The Mac Pro does not support Crossfire. I believe that the PC's were able to fully utilize the graphics hardware of the card and that that is the main reason for the better performance.

That bites. Yours looks just like mine did for almost a week. It never showed it leaving the CA address, but then it suddenly popped up in NC the day before it was to show up here. It's on a truck at the moment.

Just got off the phone with apple to see what was going on and the said that if I would like to I could cancel/credit me for my CTO/BTO MacPro without a restocking fee and go down to a local brick and morter store to pick one up as well as gave me $100 towards my future purchase.

Going to the store to see what configs they have.

Ordered Aug 7 - Shipped Sept 12.

I got a shipment email and a tracking number yesterday, but 24 hours later, still no tracking information. Called FedEx and they don't show it as a valid tracking number. Hrmmmm

Nope just went into the Edison, NJ Apple store at the Mall and walked out with it. It was a standard config that I had wireless/BT added to. No shipping thankfully it was just a 5 min drive.

I got a call Monday from Apple saying that my computer will ship on the 12th and arrive on the 13th. I looked at the order status page this morning and the order got pused back another week until 9/19/06. I ordered my computer on 8/8/06 with the following configuration:

I spoke with Apple this morning about the delay and they told me that because my order was custom that is why it is delayed. I asked what was causing the delay and she told me because my computer was a custom computer it would casue delay.(bull!@#$ answer) I asked them why then last week did the tell me that my computer would ship out on or before my shipping date, and then I received a call Monday stating that the computer would ship out on the 12th and arrive the 13th guess what her answer was you got your computer is a custom built computer and it will ship on or before the 19th.

Thanks Apple for all of your USELESS help.😡

Started the transfer, said it was going to take 22 hours at first 😱 but has now settled down to 9 hrs.

wow.

once I get my other junk out of the way i'll tke pictures. But just idling the iMac G5 1.8GHz in target mode is louder than the Mac Pro easily. Though the iMac goes full fan mode when it's in target mode.

the mac pro was loud for about 10 seconds on boot up as it cycled everything up and down, but when everything was off but it while it setup the wireless KB/Mouse the construction noises outside was louder.

That's some pretty crummy luck, or crummy FedEx work.

Mine is On FedEx vehicle for delivery as of 6:21 AM this morning. It got shipped to the Windsor facility last night, which is a different town from what I usually see, but it's just as close to me as any of the others.

I'm probably going to, uh, disappear for a while once it arrives, but I'll try to take a few pictures.

Apple shows that it left Fullerton yesterday, due to be delivered just 30 minutes away today... FedEx has no record of the shipment.

So now what?? I have to to a 6 week claim while FedEx looks for it, and then I get to order another one, once I get my money back for the lost one.

This is BS.

Apple said "it left our shipping doc yesterday, but that is all the information we have. You should call FedEx"

Called FedEx, still no record of it being picked up.

Called Apple again, if it doesn't show up in the next 7 days (next day shipping huh?) then they will file a claim with FedEx, once the claim is settled, then I will be refunded for it and I can order a new one.

This is Bad. 4 for 4 Bad Apples.. 1 defective 15" MBP, 1 Defective 17" MBP, 1 DOA MB and now a lost MP.

I'm freaking jinxed!
