I can’t hear the fans on my 2020 iMac unless I use all CPU threads to 3D render or if I play Cyberpunk 2077. Not as much as people here are supposing. Many workers have been allowed to take company laptops and desktops home.

My fans only kick in when I use X-Plane 11.I can’t hear the fans on my 2020 iMac unless I use all CPU threads to 3D render or if I play Cyberpunk 2077. Nothing else has fired up the fans for me.
I will say utilizing 100% GPU for rendering in Windows 10 generates way less fan noise than 100% CPU rendering in Catalina. It isn’t even close. Maybe someday Blender will use GPU to render in macOS like it does in Windows.
Logically, with the M1 Macs being the lowest cost Macs you can buy since Nov 2020, it stands to reason that the M1 Macs should be to best selling Macs in Q1 2021.Maybe people are buying up the Intel chip Macs before you can't buy one anymore?
