I have a sticker on my MacBook but its a simple cartoon thing which my cousin gave me.
i went for this

and just love it !! :D

i think it works for protection and style !!

u think ?

Awesome. That probably increases the resale value because it's not crap.

its a cool sticker but in no way would increase resale - people want macs for the styling they have any aftermarket mod *mine included* wont help resale.

the sticker is ok but how will it improve protection - the area that the sticker is will be blacker than the surrounding area when its removed a discolouration that big will not go unnoticed!

K

that icolours is rad. too bad i don't have the nerve to try to take my mb apart for it.

Sorry I took so long.

Made in honor of the little girls that china either:

A) Deemed to ugly to sing in front of the world or

B) forced to compete despite their age status

:D

s it really void the warranty if you take apart the screen shell? Are there any safety seals?

yeah there is security 'gum' like you get on the inside of xbox 360's etc. it is special as it loses its tackiness when you touch it with your hands (use gloves!) or like me do it when your warranty expires haha

all the installation instructions are on the site (no i dont work for them im actually a happy customer!) macbooks and mbp's are the toughest ones pbs ibook etc are easy!

if you have the nuts, www.icolours.ca - small acrylics for the apple logo - i have a green one in my blackbook, leopard one in a 12" powerbook, ska checks in my 15" powerbook and a 13" ibook.

They look wicked and as they are behind the apple logo they look pro!

i have one of those in my old powerbook, it's the rainbow one and it looks really cool. i haven't had the "nuts" to put one in my macbook pro tho, it's about a month out of warranty but i don't really fancy taking the screen apart unless i have to.

my macbook pro has a pretty simple sticker on it from jinx.com.

its quite simple as long as you do it carefully. i had the rainbow one in my macbook was sweet :D

the only thing is that you need to make sure that the airport aerial is secured to the top case and you dont mess up the little clips around the bezel (learnt the hard way!)

nice sticker - careful it doesnt discolour the case :)

hehe i don't care, i'll use this til i can't anymore and then pass it on to my kids and buy a new one. my 5 year old is using my 12" powerbook now and she loves it and gets a lot of use out of it. i can't believe how much abuse that thing has taken and it still runs like a champ, those things were built like tanks.

I just bought a Powerbook I'm going to use for school and I'm probably going to sticker the life out of it. I'm sure there isn't going to be much resell value, but if there is, stickers can't be that hard to remove.

I decided to stick to a more classy mod for my MBP:

I made my own insert to put behind the screen. I created the image and had Kinko's print it up on a transparency sheet. I know someone will ask what the "P!" is. It's an image from my favorite anime, FLCL:

teehee.

there is a way to actually change your text on menus with the terminal but i have to admit that the pic above was edited in photoshop ;)

just to see what people would think haha :D

thats so tacky, why would you ruin the resale value of your notebook by putting stickers on it?

that reminds me of a very nice BMW I seen the other day that had a bumper sticker plastered on the back part of the trunk lid.

Jesus Christ.... I felt like pulling the guy over and b***h slapping him for doing such a terrible thing.

I'm a surfer / skater, I've always been into slapping stickers on everything. And my main inspiration as a child to get into computers was lord nikons laptop from Hackers where he had stickers instead of numbers and letters on his keyboard lol!

As far as criticism I really don't care because I'm never going to sell this thing... I never get rid of my computers because I am a savager for parts... why sell good parts?

Main reason for this was because I hate the dirt / shiny spots my skin was leaving near the mouse pad, then the outer shell was getting scratched by my bag's zipper, so I said screw it and made it look like my boards, door, ramp, etc...

Although I am starting to like the skins from gelaskins.com have some really neat designs, so I may end up buying one.
