What is? The scenario where the internal flash memory broke, but nothing else on the board did, and you want to keep reusing that SoC?

I… guess?
Quit being needlessly sassy

I’ve had to do this a bunch of times because I dropped my computer and I couldn’t afford or didn’t have time to go get it fixed. In the past you could replace the disk yourself, now it’s even more complicated to get a repair

I'm not being sassy, I just don't think it's a very likely scenario that the soldered flash chips break, but no other soldered ones do.

Now, when the storage is removable? Yes, it is indeed more likely to break than stuff that isn't removable. That's kind of Apple's point.

Sorry, how is this modular?
The Mac Studio was never marketed as being modular... the Mac Pro was.

The Mac Studio appears to be a replacement for the higher-end models of the Mac Mini, it does not replace the Mac Pro.

In the video where the Mac Studio was announced, a point was made of saying there was still one model of Mac left to be transitioned, which is the Mac Pro - in other words, that one is still coming.

The event video explicitly called out the Mac Studio for being 'modular', on one of the slides.
