Something should be done or said to developers from the mac community about games not being released for mac computers or at least taking years to port over. I personally believe its BS. I don't want to install windows just to be able to play the latest and greatest games. The availability for the mac gaming community needs to be addressed............................:apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple:

The whole point of switching over to apple for me was to get away from microsoft and windows crashing all around me, and infecting my life with viruses and trojan horses. Now I have to consider installing windows on my precious mac just to be able to game? Thumbs waaay down on that one, Guess I'll stick to Blizzard games, and Steam from now on???

The market share for games on Mac is pretty nil, I'm surprised Steam is even bothering, consider yourself lucky. Or else go back to Windows. :)

You need to realize the first thing about Macs. What Steve decides is always correct; he is never wrong and you are wrong to question him.

Hilarious! Hey wait that was a tongue-in-cheek comment? ;)

Ok, lets put our minds together and decide just what should be done to smack those stupid game developers up side the head? Google their home addresses, then drive by and throw rocks? Nope, let's keep thinking. :p

You could always offer them the $10 to $20 million needed to develop an A+ title. I'm sure you'd quickly recover the development costs because Mac users will come out in droves to buy the game.

I think the Mac games market isn't quite as bad as is made out. Steam will help and it's interesting that the mac made up about 11% of sales initially. I bet that figure was sustained following the release of HL2 etc.

Now being a Steam customer I can see that new releases/discounts are going to generate a lot of sales from me - provided there is no boxed alternative at a similar price - so I think the sales trend will continue.

Also the Humble Indy Bundle was very interesting (as well as a great offer :D ) in terms of the sales/platform information provided by the team.

Currently there are more good games out there that I want to buy than I can currently afford/justify so I think we're having a good time for releases.

The only caveat to the above is I am a Mac gamer - so I'm not going crazy about anything interesting that might be released for PC and not be making it's way to us. I'm just supporting and enjoying what makes it to our platform of choice.

macmaniacattack: Not just Blizzard and Steam but also VP Ltd, Feral Interactive, Aspyr etc all bring great games to the Mac. Also check out Insidemacgames.com .

The timing of your post i find a bit odd as steam has not long been released for mac and a shedload of games are coming to the platform.

Patience is the key. Valve releasing steam for mac is a hell of a huge step, and will convince developers to make their games for Mac. It will just take time. Hell, its only been out for about a month. Give it a few years, and I think we should start to see a lot of mainstream games come to the Mac client.

    Don't be sounding ungrateful now.
