My 2015 macbook has developed an issue.
I cannot boot it up but when i plug in the charging cable it still makes the charging sound and shows the battery icon on screen.
Also before i shut it down (and could not reboot) the trackpad did not work properly anymore.
The people at the store say that this is because of a faulty smc chip and because everything is soldered on the motherboard, this is gonna be costly.
Anyone has an alternative way to resolve this issue? Thanks in advance!

Have you tried an SMC reset?
