Someone please tell me the horrible wifi problems that I constantly have to fix (at least once or twice a week) using http://osxdaily.com/2015/10/16/fix-wi-fi-problems-mac-os-x-el-capitan/ affect only a subset of macbooks.

I'm planning to somehow get this macbook fixed using warranty as soon as I get a desktop computer to use while my macbook is under repairs. Just tell me there is light at the end of the tunnel. Otherwise this laptop is seriously amazing, like everything else is awesome except for the wifi.

PS. No mac dealers in this country have macbooks available with us keyboards so no switchie-switchies available, needs to be sent overseas for repairs.

I don't know what you are seeing but I'm not having any wifi problems after using a 2016 m5 MacBook.

I've experienced wifi issues where in the wifi connection would be horribly slow. All I had to do was switch off/on the wifi. Not a usual occurrence though maybe just on a couple occasions. rMB 2015 1.1GHz Core M.

Mac`s can be finicky with some WiFi routers, which can result in poor performance, disconnects, systems not sleeping correctly etc. Best thing to try is another known WiFi network and see if the problems persist.

I have a 2015 rMB which is used in a business role, for the most part it`s WiFi connection has been ok, equally in some hotels the rMB has flatly refused to connect to the network. I have a Huawei portable router which can also act as a repeater, which connected to the hotel network without issue and was able to link in the rMB, a solution, albeit not ideal.

At home WiFi is solid, equally comparing my 1.2 rMB to my M3 Samsung TabPro S, the Samsung WiFi performance is significantly faster than that of the Mac`s. Personally I doubt there is a hardware issue and you can try Apple`s hardware test to validate the same. Try creating a new user account and use a different router/network and see what happens.

A useful tool for debugging WiFi on OS X is iStumbler this can help to isolate the wireless radio channel and reduce interference etc.

I have been using MBA since the 2011 and I have been getting rMBP 15, 5k 27 iMac and just 2016 Macbook M5 few weeks ago. I have never seen any Wifi issues with all of those Macs I have. I can say 100% for sure that they much faster than other Windows systems I have. My iMac Wifi link speed is always at 1300Mbps, while the rest hovers from 800-1030Mbps. Except the MBA, it is doing its max at 300Mbps.
