MacBook 5 days old - "Transition model?" therefore iLife '08 for free?

As a testament to how much time I have to waste at work, I called the ADC Hardware department, and was assured by them as well that every CTO shipping on or after 8/7 would come with iLife 08.

Yes being kind and patient is very helpful, being belligerent never helps.

I know I ordered my Airport Extreme on 8/3 when I ordered the computer. just got an email stating I was upgraded to the newer APE version.

I got my MacBook on 7.29 from Apple retail, do you guys think I have a chance?

Also, say you were to order the upgrade for $9.95...could you use it on a different computer? I ask this because we also bought a MacBook on the day of the Apple event. It was for my mom, and she doensn't really want iLife, so I see this as an opportunity to get the '08.

I bought a MacBook Pro today and it had iLife 06. I think I'll go back with the reciept tomorrow for a free copy of iLife 08, although I did already pay $10 for iLife Up To Date.
