If you order from Apple online, you can return it to the store without a receipt. Normally you have 14 days, but Apple's holiday return period is in effect. "Items purchased at the Apple Online Store that are received between November 14, 2018 and December 25, 2018, may be returned through January 8, 2019."
Oh wow, nice to know! My order just arrived early for pickup today (originally scheduled for Monday). That gives me plenty of time to decide!

So, it was a no-go on the price match. Manager said they’d only do it for big stores like Walmart, Best Buy, etc. I think she said not even Sam’s Club. Oh well, still got the education discount at least.

Did confirm that my return cutoff is January 8th though. Plenty of time to decide if I like it, or switch to the Pro.

Well B&H Photo is a big store, and an Apple Authorized seller, so I don't see why they wouldn't match. I mean B&H Photo has been a big store since before Apple even had an Apple Store.

Yeah the employee knew the store, even though there are none around here. She was about to do it, until she went and asked the manager about the best way to do it (cancel my store pickup, do a return/exchange, etc), then she cane back and told me management said only the big local stores. Kinda lame. But only an extra $70 savings I guess...
