Picked up at Best Buy as well but got an even better deal since online they had open box in excellent condition certified for only $818. Had $80 of reward certificates so essentially got it for under $790 shipped to my door taxes and all. Hell of a deal for what's essentially a new laptop.

Yes in stock. I doubt it will be snappier for those activities as they are not very memory intensive.
