Doesn’t have corner bumpers on the bottom of the bag, and admittedly over priced. But these bags look nice and are specifically made for the M2 airs.
I can't recommend SFBags (Waterfield) enough! They make great products. They are pricey, but every bag and sleeve that I have purchased from them over the years is still going strong: no ripped material, seams are all good, zippers all work and the leather pieces look worn but in that good way. My favorite that I've used for my last three laptops is the Sutter Tech Sling. Love this bag.

I absolutely agree with your opinion about Waterfield quality - but their earlier design aesthetic (circa 2008) was much more appealing to my tastes. This thing, for example, dates to before 2006- it has over a million air miles on it and shows practically zero wear despite being dragged through 25 countries.

I'd buy this one if it were available today...would rather not wait until end of august. Maybe Native Union instead

do skins have any effect on heat dispersion? just curious. am planning a thin sleeve (my macbook always travels in my backpack), but thought to check out the skin idea.

the one linked above is good! it will also keep your MBA fresher in the fridge for a longer time...

I would love a clear skin to apply to the top and bottom of the new air... haven't found one yet.
I have a guy on Etsy that sells for the M1 Air.. He will be making one for the M2 soon... very happy with the quality. He will let me know when available. Clear is nice... a very light matte finish

Update: Just received notice, available now

I've owned two von Holzhausen portfolios, one for my 12.9" iPad Pro M1 Gen5 and another for my previous MBP M1. Extremely well crafted, quality synthetic leather and durable sleeves - they have a nice thickness and not thin whatsoever.

Harber London craft some nice leather sleeves and bags - https://harberlondon.com/collections/tech-sleeves-cases

I use the same one. It is worth the money and much better than anything Apple sells.
Same here. I bought one for an Intel MBA a few years ago and used it for the M1. It still fits the M2, tight squeeze and the edge is very close to the opening.
One of nicest sleeves that I own.

I don’t like hard shell cases as they crack all the time. Even the expensive ones from apple.

I also have a Harber London sleeve and a Bellroy sleeve. The Harber London is ok but not as protective as the Woolnut. The Bellroy sleeve has a magnetic closure and is the most protective of all.

Is the Bellroy 14" for the 13" too? they don't have a 13".

They must’ve gotten rid of the 13” for now to tweak the size? I got mine off Telstra Plus (mobile retailer in Australia) and that would’ve been old stock for the 13”.
Yeah I saw they had them on a points sale awhile back

I ordered the Incase 13" ICON Sleeve with Woolenex for MacBook Air and MacBook Pro from apple when I ordered my M2 air, it arrived already so I've tried my current air in it, its a lot thinner than my previous case, I think ill be happy with it, plenty of protection from drops and a lot less bulky.

Does it fit the M2 MBA properly? I had the ICON sleeve before but my MBA would slide around in the case and is not snug enough.

I've had one from Bodyguardz on my MBA M1 for the past few years and I love it...it has held up great and undoubtedly saved my Air from getting tons of scratches. I contacted Bodyguardz and they said that they should have a version for the M2 Air by the end of July. FWIW it looks like Dbrand has non-clear skins available now.

I'd think so, the current old shape fits well and the new one has a less tapered design.
New M2 air is not same size as M1 one (depth 8.46 vs 8.36 inches), so it may be a tighter fit on the Icon sleeve, or not a fit at all.

I’m looking at buying that same Incase Icon sleeve for mine, but wondering if it will fit or not.

Woolnut has one that will snuggly fit the M2.

They do make nice cases, but even with the little strip for protection, I'm still a bit leery with the zipper next to the MacBook.
