Ahh, well, let’s hope this one comes dent free. No, not yet. It should arrive tomorrow, then I will give you an update.
I have two MacBook Air M2 (one for me and one for my wife). They both seem to have a slightly bend back edge line at the display side. It is only noticeable when you kinda search for it and hold the device at a certain angle. I wonder if this is more of a common or more of a rare issue. I had found out rather accidentally when I was holding my closed laptop by this side to slide it into a sleeve. That was when I suddenly heard a "click" sound thus inspecting the back of it.
The sound is reproducible and occurs each and every time when I hold the laptop at the marked spots or apply some pressure. Of course I stopped doing that... I thought probably too thin to withstand any pressure and nothing that holds against from the inside. That was when I started wondering if I had caused the bended edge line. But the second m2 has the bending without having touched it there before.. so...
And well.. don't get me wrong. The "bending" is only noticeable at the edge looking onto it like shown in the pictures and not from any other angle. The back itself doesn't look bend at all when you just look at it in "general usage".
But I am really curious now if anyone else noticed such a "click" sound or something like that?
Joe.

This is pretty hilarious if true. Not sure I've ever seen Apple's famed industrial engineering actually misjudge the sizes of internal components relative to the fitment of the casings they are to be placed within...Out of interest I took the bottom plate off.
The bend in my case was not due to the 4x fastening clips sitting proud of screwhead (as others have suggested here) , but its actually the components themselves having a slight curvature.
Not sure what the parts are - but they have what appears to be antenna cables running to them (perhaps wifi/bluetooth modules?).
I loosened the screws either side of each module (pushed down on the module, in an attempt to reseat) then re-tightened. Maybe made a fraction of difference. Probably not worth your time.
Bottom case back on, and on with life 🤙🏻
I have m2 mba as well and bending is slightly noticable when you look at that angle. Did loosing screws fix the problem ? How does if appear now ?Out of interest I took the bottom plate off.

I don't super care either way (love my M2 and have AC+), but does kind of seem like a first!

I will take my MacBook Air m2 to the service, what do you think will they replace the bottom case due to wavy bending or blame the user ?Now it has arrived. It's still a little wavy, but better than my first unit. Now that I know that almost all devices are affected by this, I can live with it and will enjoy the MacBook.
I noticed the same sound on mine when picking up my laptop a couple days ago. I bought the laptop about 2 months ago and it’s very annoying having issues like this in such an expensive machine. The clicking sound is very noticable and the backplate is a bit bent aswell. I haven’t damaged the laptop myself, no dropping etc. I went to an authorized Apple service provider and they weren’t sure if the repair would fall under warranty or if I would have to pay for the repair myself and they won’t be able to tell until they check the laptop. Wouldn’t want to pay for something that’s probably been there since the day I bought the laptop. Didn’t realize I’d have to thoroughly inspect a new Apple product for defects before I start using it. I booked a repair appointment for tomorrow so we’ll see what happens.I have two MacBook Air M2 (one for me and one for my wife).
