This comparsion needs to made. Dell today released their new 2022 XPS 13" model

Dell XPS 2022 starts at $999 for an i5 1230U, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD.

It's only a 13.4" 1920x1200P screen with a 168.97 ppi.
It's 13.99mm thin and weighs 1.17kg (2.59 lb).

BUT it comes with only 2 USB-C ports.

The new XPS has no 3.5mm jack and has worse screen(lower brightness, lower screen res) and 720p webcam. Less ports than M2 Air and likely get loud.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The M2 MacBook Air has it beat in every hardware spec but it has less external monitor.

M2 Air has a 13.6" 2560-by-1664 at 224 ppi display.
1080p webcam, MagSafe, 2 USB-C ports, MagSafe and 3.5mm jack.

The new Air also thinner at 11.3mm but is a bit heavier at 1.24kg(2.7 lb).

The M2 Air starts at $1199 for M2 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD but it is better in everyway expect external monitor support.
It's also very likely that the M2 is faster than the i5 1230U.

I know people like to compare Windows and Mac computers but IMO if you want to run macOS you buy a Mac and if you want to run Windows then well you buy a Windows computer.

What is “has less external monitor”?

I have a Dell xps 13 9305 model, 2021. It has a 11 gen i5 u processor. The problem is not the build quality, it is windows 11. I had to reinstall windows 11 after upgrading from 10. I’m think I will buy the new air. I find my self using my ipad 12.9 pro more than ever. I love the build quality of the Dell, but windows 11 is hot mess.

Win11 is becoming this generation's Vista.

I would like to know what users find wrong with win11. I also got Dell XPS 9305 a few months ago refurbished at great discount. It came preinstalled with Win 11 Home and it booted zipping fast. However being primary Mac and Linux user I replaced OS with Arch Linux with KDE customized to mimic layout of MacOS taskbar and dock positions. Then installed windows 11 inside virtual machine to run Win exclusive apps.

The spyware features you can’t turn off are a big no-no.
