Macbook Air only turn on when is 100% charged

I left my macbook air ( bought it in may from the apple story) in sleep mode for a couple hour. When I came back it didn't react, tried turn it on, the SMC and nothing. I left it charging and after it was fully charged it turned on. It happened the same issue this morning. Any Idea why this is happening?
 
I'm not sure why this is happening but I would take it back to the Apple store for diagnosis, especially if it is still under warranty.
