Looks like the high-end 11" MBA may have 8GB of RAM, and if so, that makes it the upgrade I've been waiting for! My 17" doesn't exactly win any portability awards, but it sure gets work done when I need it to (and I'm looking forward to continued SSD price drops to eventually swap out the HDD).

I refuse to buy an iPad, but the 11" will make the perfect mobile writing platform. Here's hoping...

why does everyone call flash storage SSD? I thought there was quite a big difference here?

I thought the air has two configs per size, not three?

Also assuming rumours ate true, I'm hoping they would offer the 8gb ram option but not 512 gb of hdd as I don't need that much, and I'm sure it'll be expensive with both.

It will be a MacTouch Pro!!

They have the tech available to make a touch laptop or desktop... I'm sure they will show something revolutionary today!

Did the owners of 9to5Mac buy out MacRumors or something? Nearly every other news post cites them as a source...may as well set up an RSS feed to automatically re-post their news here!

After this keynote there won't be anything worth coming back to Macrumors for for the forseeable future - cba to read about Apple TV Set and 7" iPad again and again and again.

These have needed a higher ram option for years now... 8gb is a nice start. Up to 16gb would be better.

While 16gb would be wonderful I think apple would see it as:

A) Not needed
B) to expensive
C) Physically too big

for the MBA form factor.

We also asked 9to5Mac about the implausible Mac Pro specs they published earlier today, and they assured us that those are indeed the specs that are showing up in inventory systems. Consequently, it remains unclear exactly what is going on with the Mac Pro and whether there might be errors or purposely incorrect information being provided by Apple.

You actually believe a rumour site would admit they posted rumours that are not plausible? It'll never happen. They would not do it. MacRumors would not do it. No rumour site would do it.

So why expect something from another rumour site that this site would not do itself?

Good to see 4GB RAM as standard. Still disappointed to see 64GB SSD in the base-model, the $1000 machine should at least have 128GB storage.

Why did they get rid of the 'We'll be back soon' yellow sticky note and replace it with that awkward-looking crooked banner?

MC975LL/A – MBP 15.4/2.3/8GB/256GB FLASH-USA
MC976LL/A – MBP 15.4/2.6/8GB/512GB FLASH-USA
MD831LL/A – MBP 15.4/2.7/16GB/768GB FLASH-USA

From 9to5Mac, new MBPs (retina), very pricey.

64GB? on a $999 machine?

top of the line Samsung 830 256GB SSD can be had for $250 on a regular price and on a promotion it is $200.

up sell, up sell

I would not buy macbook air, had rather buy macbook pro and upgrade myself whatever i want ...
