What I'm saying is that in todays market, you can't have a laptop sit at the same price with the same specs for a year.

When people go back to school, what are they going to see? A MacBook with 2.0ghz, 160gb HD and 2gb of ram for the same price it was selling for in Oct/08 vs. a Win based laptop that is faster, more ram and a HD twice the size.

If Apple doesn't either drop their prices in line with the Intel price cuts and/or up the specs, they'll lose big during back to school time because I guarantee Dell/Sony/HP will be offering some good stuff.

I completely disagree. The white macbook was kept around for the college student. Apple has done a lot of research regarding their product pricing and I bet that more parents are willing to cough up ~$1000 for a college laptop than aren't.

They've had the same pricing on laptops for more than a year in the past, and they will again this time around. College is one of Apple's biggest markets, I don't expect any prices to drop anytime soon.

LOL for real dude?

Most parents and students are in complete shock when they figure out how much university is REALLY going to cost (rent/food/tuition/books etc)

I seriously doubt there are many students looking for laptops in the $1k+ range, hence Apple's low market share.

Ok, think whatever you want to think. By the way, when was the last time you were on a major university's campus?

Take a look around at what computers the majority of students are using. You'll see that I'm right and you're wrong.

I think my school is at least 35% Apple. So yeah, I think thats roughly accurate.

Macbook = College Student's favorite laptop;

//So much that I went from a MBP to a uMB.
