Stupid design. When there are ExpressCard MULTI readers.

I guess if 1% of people us their Express Card slot then either most customers weren't aware of this or didn't want to buy one.

I agree Express Card offers more utility though.

I'm interested in is how they got Firewire and SD slots into the MacBook 13 when the internals they showed last October showed no room for either. I guess the built in battery buys them extra space.

"Macs will never have card readers. Steve and Jonathan don't like holes in their designs, and it would have to be cut into the unibody."

Eh?
Would you like some salt to sprinkle on your words before you eat them? :)

Import Selected photos not an option with SD card slot

OK, I have a new MBP with the SD card slot. When I downloaded some pix using that method, I can't choose to select which photos to import, can only select all, or "hide photos already imported." So, I am traveling and didn't bring an extra card reader or the cable for camera to laptop method, and don't want to erase the card yet, or even part of it yet. I looked all around and can't find a way to avoid importing all previous photos on the card when all I want to do is import the newest ones. When I had the MB and used the card reader or cable method, I was given a choice. Am I missing something or is this the only option?

I assume you're using iPhoto? Can you access the card via disk-mode, like a hard drive from the desktop and pick-and-choose what you want?

I am using iPhoto, which I was using with the MB. But this is the first time I've used the sd card slot on here and even the tutorial says I should be able to choose import all or select, I am only given the options mentioned. I don't quite know what you mean about the disk mode, unless you mean putting the pictures on a disk and importing them that way. I do not have access to another computer, but the whole point of having the card slot in the MBP is to make it easier to import photos (for ME that is the main point) and this little hiccup is worrisome. I suppose I should just erase the disk when I import them but since I'm new to Mac I'm just trying to be safe with my photos til I get the hang of it. Don't want to lose any of them.

Does the SD card show up on the desktop like a thumb-drive would? If so, pick and choose your pictures that way, just as you would off a thumb-drive/USB drive.

Does it work with SDHCs?
