Has anyone ordered from Etsy? I want to order the Street Fighter one from moviemagicman. Is the site legit?

Who in San Diego

I would like to repeat the request for the name of the company that did the etching.

I too live in San Diego and would like to etch my MBP, but finding a place has proven difficult.

I have been wanting to do this forever but I can't settle on a design. If I had a Mac Pro octo-monster computer I'd put tentacles surrounding the Apple. Perhaps daddy Steve will gift us with octo-core iMacs someday.

I am in the same boat as you, I can't settle on a design.... but even after I do I think I will have a hard time actually doing it!

I just bought this one on Etsy, can't wait for it to get here!

After going to those links with the decals I ordered this one. Does anyone know if apple could say that putting decals on voids a warranty?

I would say a decal, which in no way alters the computer would provide no issue with one exception.

should the material under the sticker discolor as a result of some chemical reaction with the adhesive, it wouldn't be covered. But otherwise, it shouldn't be an issue.

OP's etching on the other hand, almost certainly would void at least the warranty for the display. his display has now been subject to a focalized point of energy, which creates heat to vaporize or alter the properties of the material below it.

hmmm, I wonder if you could etch it using the acid made for etching glass that is sold in craft stores. Then you could just cut a stencil out of some contact paper and etch whatever you want in there!... it would be very difficult to get different shades using this method, but it would be cheap!

I'm tempted to etch my name on the inside of the bottom case just to see what happens.

Wow. How to ruin a BadBoy Pro in one fell swoop.

BadBoy pro is lame as hell, and fanboyish. Furthermore, it's his machine, his money, he can do whatever the hell he wants with both.

I find it quite tasteful.

Exactly this. I'm not a huge fan of the specific design myself (or the original painting on which it's based), but it's a well-done piece of etching, and, as other commenters have pointed out, will probably aid its resale value when the OP comes to move on. It may not be my cup of tea, design-wise, but it's artistically spot-on and tastefully done, so I'm really not seeing how it can be described as 'ruined'...

...or how any halfway respectable computer can be described as a 'badboy' in the first place... but maybe that's just me.

Agreed. If anything, it would add a very cool personal touch out of the gazillion macs out there. I'm a little tempted to get one of those Etsy-thingies now (mostly because I could take it off if I ever change my mind)... I wonder what their international shipping is like?

EDITED - I removed my serious post from here as this thread only seems to be about... well - see posts below.

Care to enlighten the world on this 'badboy' term? I clicked "find more posts from this user" and nearly smashed my face into the lab counter after reading the sheer amount of 'bad boy' references in your other posts.

He's just having a laugh with it because people tend to rise to the phrase quickly and easily.

So I called the Apple care hotline and they said that making any permanent changes to your computer would void the warranty. Even painting or just drawing on it is considered void.

Would it be possible to get the vector image or whatever was used for the Son Of Man engraving on the first page? I am very interested in getting this done to my computer yet I am completely inept at photoshop. I would pretty much love you forever.

Anybody have a link to a good quality picture of the Snow White graphic? I have a friend who owns a vinyl shop and I want him to make me one.

Im still wondering if it would be possible to get the actual vector file posted? I would be very grateful
