So I decided to have my MacBook laser etched. I saw some examples online and found my favorite but it was a vinyl sticker. I copied it in Illustrator and made touched it up and took it to a local laser etching place here in San Diego. This is it.

the etching only cost $90. I was nervous because once it's done it's done. Kinda like a tattoo. I love it though. Totally happy with it.

    Very nice.

Like you said, like a tattoo its pretty much permanent so I've always withheld any temptation for me to try that. Mostly because I've not seen anything that I liked but that etching looks very nice.

Hi, I'd like to etch my macbook with the snow white design. I also live in San Diego and was wondering where you had it done. :)

Wow. How to ruin a BadBoy Pro in one fell swoop.

I disagree. While many of the laser etchings I've seen leave something to be desired. The OP's is classy and well thought out.

Besides, who said he ruined it, its exactly what he wanted, so how is that ruined. Just because its not your idea of beauty, means he has to conform to what you want.

At least he's not trolling the forum with his definition of futureproof like you do.
And also, at least he's not calling it a BadBoy Pro!

Are you in warranty? I assume this wouldn't effect it if?

    Quite a clever joke.

I like the Snow White too, but not as much as your Magritte (it is Magritte, isn't it?) idea.

    Warranty?

After going to those links with the decals I ordered this one. Does anyone know if apple could say that putting decals on voids a warranty?

Will this void the Applecare warranty?

The OP's etching in very nicely done. I really like it. Wouldn't mind getting my 13" MBP laser etched but what about his Applecare warranty? Did the OP check with Apple first to find out if his warranty would be voided for modifying the cabinet?
