"PC games" won't install on OS X. You would have to buy the Mac version, assuming they make it for OS X.

Also there are some differences on the keyboard between the US and UK Mac's.

I got told you can play of games on macby alot of people most pc games I see just say pc cdrom on the front and that's it , I only really want to play world of Warcraft on it

The video card is not bad and can handle a number of new games. It runs Dead Space on high settings with a resolution of 1280x720 very well. Street Fighter 4 runs decently at med-high settings at a similar resolution.

So far the only game I couldnt play at acceptable detail and resolution is Mass Effect. Obviously it wont run Crysis either. Any game older than 3 years should run great, World of Warcraft would easily be able to be maxed out and run perfectly since its so old.

To put some perspective on WoW, my 6 year old PowerBook can run it at an average of 25 FPS on low settings but with texture resolution maxed, Weather intensity at two thirds, and environment detail at half at 1280x854 fullscreen. The new MacBooks are probably three times faster than my PB with a resolution of 1280x800.

I believe that you can download the Mac version from Blizzard at WoW's account management page.

Yeah thanks i may of misrepresented what i wanted to say here , ive got a ps3, 360 , wii . Its only WoW i will play on the mac im unsure about how to configure the settings but im sure ill manage it

With the macbook is there cds that come with it that i need to install stuff onto it or is everything preinstalled and if so what are all the programmes i get with it .

everything is preinstalled on the mac, once you turn it on for the first time it will install all you need, connect to the internet and download all available updates. I bought my whitebook in NYC this time last year (5th Ave), with regards to the power adaptor i just used the UK bit from my iphone charger and swapped it with the US one i got connected to my macbook charger, simple! You wont regret buying a macbook trust me, oh and have a good time in NY, im not jelous at all lol.

LOL this is my 3rd time to NY , I got tickets for yankees v red sox and mets v cardinals.

Even so, there was some good info in that post... I've just finished my 9th trip to NY (usually stay around 10 days on average each time) and I can honestly say there's new stuff I see each time.

Even if you don't want to venture outside Manhattan, I'd recommend checking out the Highline this time as it only opened in June.

Ok so i went into Buchannan Store today and spoke with a few of the guys , all i gotta say is WOW i never realised how good macbooks where honestly guys with PC's should check them out and convert .

They told me that Applecare is worlwide and can only be bought when you are making your purchase , Im just gonna buy it sametime as i buy my macbook then rather be protected incase the slightest thing goes wrong .

1- Is leopard the pc version of windows

A lot people want to say Windows sucks, etc., but the truth is OS X (Leopard is a version of OS X) can live hand-in-hand with Windows; you can install both if you like.

...Leopard is a version of OS X...

The numbering system of 10.0, 10.1, 10.2, etc. are also occasionally referred to by their cat related codenames. The two you will probably hear about are Leopard (10.5), and Snow Leopard (10.6; as of yet unreleased). The rest are as follows, but you won't need to know these:

10.0: Cheetah (2001)
10.1: Puma (Late 2001)
10.2: Jaguar (2002)
10.3: Panther (2003)
10.4: Tiger (2005)
10.5: Leopard (2007)
10.6: Snow Leopard (2009)

If your worried about the macbook's plastic cracking, pick up a incase or applesac/colcasac (my recommendation) and store it in there when traveling / not in use.

The Polycarbonate case is perfectly strong. The thing that tends to crack is the keyboard top plate.

I think if it cracks during warranty, Apple will replace the keyboard for you. Mine's out of warranty now, so I'm not hopeful of it being replaced, but I may buy one off of ebay as it's easy to replace.

Still, an incase sleeve is a good idea for it.

I heard that apple will fix it even if its out of warranty , the guy in the store told me today yeah they will fix it "apple are pretty lenient"

Not true. I got my Apple Care just under a year after I bought my iMac (You have to buy AppleCare within a year of your purchase.) I got it off eBay for about £60!

Also, you get a years standard warranty anyway so if something goes wrong within a year of purchasing your MacBook and you don't have AppleCare then you will still be covered. But if you have the cash to buy it when you get the MacBook then then I guess there's no reason not to get it then.

If you don't declare your laptop, don't they have the right to seize the item from you for attempting fraud? I don't know about everyone else, but this is a risky gamble, in my opinion. There is always the very small chance that things won't go the way you think they will, and on a $1000+ purchase, it just isn't worth the risk..

I think you should just buy the laptop locally and save yourself the hassle. You would also get the correct power adapter with your purchase.
