Same, and I got it with 16 GB RAM, so RAM won't be an issue at all during that time.

I ordered my 2017 MacBook with the i5, 500GB SSD, and 16GB RAM. I can't remember if the 500GB SSD was standard or if I upgraded that.

It still runs as well as when I got it and I have Mojave on it. Still haven't decided if I'll ever put Catalina on it.

I still have a MacBook pro from like 2010 and if my cat hadnt chewed through the charger cable it would work well. I bought it to play WOW on and for that it functioned great. Now its just a harddrive for storing pics because I use my iPad and my phone for everything. I would get rid of it, as I just got a 4TB external hard drive and I dont really need it, but Im not sure what to even do with it. I paid like 2K and I doubt taking it back to the apple store would give me that much store credit, nor would anyone want to purchase an almost 10 year old laptop...

I actually bought my 2017 MacBook in October and love it. For what I do, the net and media, it does great. Would love a thin bezel updated version. M$ already beat apple to the punch so the tech is there.

Yes I'm going for the new 13.3" MacBook Pro when it arrives this spring. I've decided on the 2TB SSD and 16GB of RAM. I LOVE the TouchBar design too and the extra USB-C ports. Editing in FCPC and Logic Pro should be beautiful on it too :)
For me as I spend 5-6 hours a day on my MacBook the 13.3" screen size is the perfect size.
The thinness of my 12" MacBook does make it feel delicate and finally I'm ready for a change :)

I don't use my MB everyday (mainly for light photo processing via LR and PS), but it serves its purpose. I don't plan on upgrading for quite awhile. If I used the device more often, I would look to update within the next year or two, but my iPhone and iPad get most use when I'm home.

The 12" MB is perfect to travel with since I can throw it in my camera bag when traveling, so I can process on the go.

My wife has a 2016 m5, she barely uses it. I use it sometimes to do some spreadsheet work, surfing, or recording audio and what not. Works perfect I can’t really see ever needing to get a replacent unless it physically breaks

I put Catalina on it last week and it’s as fast as ever. This form factor was the best. Small sleek fanless. It’s a great device

Costco has it on deep discount right now especially the i5/512Gb. for $900 very tempted to get one. But the keyboard and it being a 3 years old computer is holding me back. Personally I'm still rocking my 2011 Macbook pro 13, and the only reason I'm thinking I need a new machine is the EOL for software support. Apple has already ended on the OS for my machine and I just got a warning message from my tax software saying that this is the last year they will support this version of the OS. Which is why I'm thinking more of getting the Air instead.

Get a new charger cable, that's what I did and put in another 4g of ram and it still runs great.
