MacBook Mini Anyone?

yeah anyway thats a 3 day old argument and im honestly not paying any attention to it at the moment. as for the price range of this i wanted it to be just between the iPad and the macbook. maybe the same price as the highest end iPad but the high end ipad you get 3g the netbook you dont. its kind of giving a variety still.

Also, any thoughts on the colored ones, if anyone likes it then would you prefer the white apple glowing on the back or a colored one or the rainbow apple? any port recommendations?

you might be on to something. but i dont think it will be macbook shaped.

I reckon it will be an uber 'post-pc' ipad style unit.

in one jump apple have gone from single core to dual core. Who knows whats next but now that they have discounted a touchscreen iMac type device I think its all about the ipad from now on.

While I doubt Apple would go back to the colored computer phase any time soon, should they do so I imagine they'd leave the Apple logo white, as would I. A colored logo to match the computer wouldn't look very good IMO.

Tablets and netbooks are very different devices. i hate iOS with a passion because the OS just feels terrible. Some like a full OS not little icons everywhere with their joke idea of folders. I don't see why it would not be macbook shaped. this mockup is thinner by a lot btw. i don't like to have a 900$ metal door wedge. or a 900$ cheese knife.

Although I doubt that mac will make something like the Macbook Mini It is a neat idea. It would be nice to have a low priced alternitive for people looking for something a little simpler.

cool mock-up ... just don't see Apple ever getting into the cheap computer market ... IMO the 11" Air is about as small as they will go

For the last time its not cheap! find the price of any netbook. 150-300$. this is 600-800$. how is that remotely cheap? Netbook. the Air sucks for the last time. its a 900$ crappy computer with its ONLY upside is the SSD memory but you cant even replace it because its soldered onto the motherboard. thats not something i would like. that's stupid. anyone smart enough would never get something like that because you would have to max it out at 1300$. thats more expensive than the 13" MBP which has core i7 now.

It doesnt need to be Air thin, it doesnt need to be as powerful as a MBP its just a tiny macbook. Its not cheap at all because any wintel notebook is half that price. and note the 600$ is the low end option. upgrades could go all the way to 1000$ for all i know.
