Yes. If you have a Studio Display anyway, then it will still be good enough for the target audience of the Neo, but I wouldn’t buy a Studio Display primarily for use with the Neo, that’s just wasted money.

The article appears to be wrong. My friend with a Neo says it connects to his older Studio Display just fine.

Purchase a monitor that's double the price of your laptop?
Unless you have the Studio Display already, can't see why anyone would want to do that anyways?
I'd rather get a more powerful laptop, and a cheaper monitor.....but that's just me!

The quality of a monitor has no bearing on the price of the device hooked up to it.

A $10 HDMI cable works just fine on a $5,000 TV. You don’t need a super fancy cable to “match” the TV.

The similarly priced Mac Mini is a perfect companion to the Studio Display and Studio Display XDR.

Not all HDMI cables are created equal. LTT did an in depth video about it a few years ago. It's still relevant.
