Apple always artifically limits stock in their store to drive FOMO. It looks like other retailers aren't playing that game this time around.
Very odd. Neo MSRP in Europe is generally high and makes it more questionable value vs the cheapest Air there. At least you dont have to be a student to get the best pricing then? 🤷♂️In Germany, Amazon and other shops have the MacBook Neo in stock for less than Apple's education pricing.
The biggest issue with Apple stores is they are like herding cattle. There is no structure to the stores at all.
The only reason this product exist, is to get rid of the stock A-chips they had. Now the A-chip stock is depleted, they not gonna produce more to sell this Neo crap.Even in the UK, you’re looking at a three to four-week wait for all colours and capacities. Apple really underestimated the sales on this one.

It's okay as a fashion accessory at your local coffee shop, but it's not going to be useful for any real work. The Neo is a great product with good build quality for a very nice price. It may be using an iPhone CPU, but it’s still a fast laptop for everyday use and even some light productivity. It’s not a crap product whatsoever.

I would disagree. I got my M5 Air on sale with an authorized retailer & next-day delivery. The same thing at Apple would’ve required driving to the store, dealing with the intense crowds of people mostly just browsing & not actually shopping, and the retailer had a significant discount on the Mac that Apple would never match.Always better to buy at Apple Store !
Honestly I’d add the M4 Mac mini to this discussion. Both are terrific products. Before this released, I was as critical as could be about the product and I have completely changed my tune here.
I think the Neo is an exceptional release and maybe the best thing they have done since the beginning of Apple Silicon itself. (Tracing all the way back to iPhone 4 there)
I agree. I only buy from the Apple Store now if they are the only ones to have it in stock and can do scheduled delivery same day. If not, there are so many more convenient options.I would disagree. I used to adore the Apple Stores; now they’re just headache-inducing.
Ok so just talking about Walmart cause they are in usa or canada where there are apple stores ! So especially for the Neo with the edu discount... way better to buy at apple store !I would disagree. In Brazil, nobody buys from the Apple Store. Here, people buy from retailers and importers because it’s much cheaper..Always better to buy at Apple Store !

People who hate a good experience shopping.....Who even buys at Walmart ?
Only if you want to pay more with some products. The Apple Store rarely offers discounts while others offer them on the regular.Always better to buy at Apple Store !
The Neo at 8GB ram is a great entry level laptop! 8GB is more than enough for students and will take over the market share from chrome books. The Neo is a great product with good build quality for a very nice price. It may be using an iPhone CPU, but it’s still a fast laptop for everyday use and even some light productivity. It’s not a crap product whatsoever.
This is pretty much the best-selling laptop they’ve made in many years. The fact that is they’ve sold millions and they still can’t keep it in stock, that’s certainly not a failure.
The 8GB RAM is a bit small, but once it gets to 12GB+, it’ll be an extremely tempting product for many more people who may be holding out.
I would disagree with you there. Apple Stores are fewer and further spread out for most people to drive to. You can find a Walmart basically anywhere in the US.Always better to buy at Apple Store !
I tried so hard to hold off until 12GB A19 Pro, but I gave in and bought an indigo Neo this weekend from Best Buy.The Neo is a great product with good build quality for a very nice price. It may be using an iPhone CPU, but it’s still a fast laptop for everyday use and even some light productivity. It’s not a crap product whatsoever.

In Germany, its 488.26€ on Amazon for the base and over 100€ more via Apple EDU. The poster i was replying to is accurate.Just checked with MacTrade and the base Neo is 611.05€ (EDU is 592.72€) including 19% VAT off course.
Another 75€ of if you go with their interest free 6 months financing.
Tempting 😳
