Macbook or MBP

I recommend a MBP because of the larger screen and availability of anti-glare finish.

This is one of the things pushing me towards a Pro. I prefer the size of the Macbook, but I think the glossy screen would eventually make me batty.

Now if the Macbook Pro came in a 13.3" screen size? Hmmmmm....

Well, I'd look at 2 scenarios:

A) Buy a MBP
B) Buy a Macbook + Xbox 360 (or PS3 or Wii)

Personally, I'd go for option B as I find the games on the Xbox 360 to be more entertaining but if you are a PC gamer and have specific games in mind that aren't available on a gaming system or if you just really want portable gaming computer then option B won't work for you.

i would suggest going to a nearby apple store and using both...if you can use the macbooks smaller screen then go with that.

for what you will be using it for, the machines will be identical, save for the screen size.

The other thing I was thinking about, was how awesome it would be if they made a high end macbook model, basically with the same specs as a MBP, but with a 13" screen and the options of white or black, and then make it $100 cheaper or something. The reason being, I really want all the features of a MBP, for gaming etc, but I want it in white with a 13" screen, cause its sexy and small! Not a big fan of the metal casings of the MBP.

Where Is The Help Here!!

HI guys,I'm sure you allhave heard this before but I need to know.I have 2 guys at work who swear by macs.Saying they will never go back to windows again.I need to know what makes Macs so different and special.If I do get one it will be the Macpro laptop and I wil wait for leopard then buy it.My desktop will stay as windows.I kow the only bad thing about macs is the lack of software and Games,especialy games.I did watch the WWDCO7 Kenote Address ,http://www.apple.com/quicktime/qtv/wwdc07/ Very interesting but I don't know about macs rep or reliability.I plan on keeping a laptop as long as possible.Please all suggestion welcom..What do you guys like about Macs why are they so much better than windows..Thanks in advance

If you really want to know why MACS are so awesome go to the switch section of the mac website that will tell u why they are cool.

What the hell is this bad rep crap??? Ever heard of Microsoft XP, perhaps the most unsecure and worst designed operating system in the history of the universe. And have you wondered why VISTA looks so so so similar to Tiger/Leopard.....because MACS are awesome! The only bad thing I've heard about MACS is that they are hard to get used to when you've used inferior operating systems like XP.

I personally don't have a MAC but can't wait to get one!!!

if it's a desktop replacement...get the mbp. The bigger screen alone is worth it. Whichever machine you get though you'll love...I used to be a windows fanboy now I feel like I Must use OS X (such a hypocrite, haha).

Get a mbp. No question it's better. With your EDU discount, the difference is only $400-$600 and for that, you get a lot. For four years of college, the mpb is the way to go.
