playing 1080p is one of the few times, ill startup vista on boot camp for.

windows just does it so much better.

im using a 2.4alubook with 4gb ram.

my macbook plays 1080p quite fine on VLC and quicktime. No stuttering whatsoever. Tested was dark knight 1080p. 😀

Im running the VLC latest version. 1080p on apple trailers work just fine too.

It worked well when I was on 2GB RAM too.

Try Wall-E. Some people have problems with it.

I use VLC and plex, in plex it works better but still takes all the CPU.

Would you go for the 2.4?

Thanks

I scanned through Plex's wiki and forums and didn't see an answer to my question, can you stream content through Plex to a 360? If so, how is the quality? If not, what can stream HD content to the 360 (other than connect360, I'm looking for freeware)? Thanks for helping a newb!

The issue is software. Both Quicktime and VLC are pretty anemic playback apps. Plex is the way to go.

And btw - WALL-E Blu-ray rip plays fine on my 2 gHz Mini with DTS 5.1 audio.

Do Plex and Boxee handle x264 mkvs the same way?

I like using Boxee and it plays everything, but if Plex is better I would use that,
