just the 13" in fact your question makes no sense because if you wanted a laptop and an iPad 2 you would get the big laptop for power needs and the iPad for light stuff and portability. a 13" and an iPad 2 is redundant (I know because I have both lol)

Macbook pro 13 inch and Ipad 2 BY FAR.. NOT EVEN A QUESTION

If you want to game then use windows.

I find that video editing/photoshop is viable on the 2011 13 inch. You shouldn't have a problem with those tasks.

Not to mentioned that the 13 inch is much more portable and since it is not so big the chances of banging it around is slimmer.

Um this is very vague what are you using them for.

I have a 15 and an ipad2. I had a 13 and then upgraded to the 15 for the bigger screen. I'm very satisfied with the weight vs screen size trade off.

I use my 15 for:
  • video editing
  • music editing
  • photo editing
  • web design
  • word processing
  • etc, its my desk / main machine

I use my ipad 2 for:
  • reading (comics, mags, books)
  • mobile media viewing
  • mobile web

What are you going to be using it for.

This and when I get an iPad 3

13 inch and iPad 2 or 15 inch? Tough Time deciding. I'm not that into all the computer video / editing, but having a higher resolution screen with more space would be nice. Is the iPad 2 really worth it? Is the it tedious to carry around the 15 inch Macbook? Please help me deciding.

hey! you keep posting that you need help deciding. are you reading what others are posting? they are asking you follow up questions and laying the framework for how to decide. it sounds like you have no idea what you're trying to do.

do you have access to demo the machines? that might help. the resolution on a 13 mbp is plenty enough. you don't do any editing/intense work, then go with a 13 inch. still, that doesn't mean you have to get the ipad. first buy the 13 inch, and try it out. if you still feel like your experience is lacking, then go get an ipad.

but don't go buy both simultaneously if you don't know what you're looking for. that's a lot to spend.

do you have some sort of smartphone?

take into account the applecare for a mbp, which adds up... and yes, it can EASILY justify itself after the first year expires.

This is the fourth thread about this since yesterday. Maybe it is reallllllllly important.

Now it is up to seven posts on two forums. Six of the posts essentially ask the same thing, except that one is asking about the 15" vs. 17" MacBook Pro and another is about a MacBook Air and iPad vs. a 15" MBP. Only one post gives any indication he actually read any of the responses to his question...

13"+iPad makes little sense.

Why get two ultra portable devices?

15"+iPad2 or 13"+custom desktop/monitor would make more sense imo.

What you do on the laptop is the most important thing. So if you don't really need the graphics, I'd get the 13" + iPad. Best of both world :D

I'm in sort of a purchasing dilemma. Do you guys think I should buy the macbook pro 13 inch and the ipad2 or just by a macbook pro 15 inch.
Questions like this are impossible to even attempt to answer when you fail to provide your needs/wants. This isn't a question with a one-size-fits-all answer.

Again, subjective on both counts. Don't assume that your preferences are universal.
