Anyone here do a lot of work with Excel? I’m coming from a 2015 MBP 15” and am leaning towards the 16” because of the screen real estate. I often find myself with 2 spreadsheets on the screen and a 14” seems cramped. Anyone have similar experience?

I guess I should have clarified a little. What I meant was if I had to work on a 14" or 16" (and didn't have an external monitor at the moment). Do both work about the same? Or is the larger 16" at a noticeable advantage?

Definitely the 16". I tried to work with apps side by side on the 14" but it just wasn't enjoyable. With the 16", I always have apps side by side on my desktops and it is so much easier to work with. I am also currently not hooking up my external monitors to my 16" because I might get rid of them soon. I am making sure I can still be productive without them and so far so good.

I like the 16" on the coach but it just felt uncomfortable! Too heavy and awkward. the 14" is much easier to move in many different positions. It feels half the weight (even tho its not). If you have back issues, the 16, sitting on a coach could cause some issues. Just my opinion ?

I tried both for about two weeks. I have the 13" m1 and love it for how easy it is to move around. But the screen size on the 16 is just so nice. Once i get my actual 16" laptop - I'll be interested to see if I'm still OK with the weight of it from the couch in about 6 months! (No desk work for me with this laptop)

haha nice! I am sure its ok for most, I just have back issues and the extra weight doesn't do well for me sitting for long periods...

i ended up going with the 14 and of course wonder if i made a mistake. but my reasoning is:
  • there was a flash sale and items were selling out fast so i went with my gut and went with the 14 as it was in stock and i got a 23% discount
  • i move my laptop around a lot, and the 14inch is just easier to hold and move around
  • i am coming from a 2014 13.3 so the 14inch already gives me a little more screen than what i am used too
  • i have a dock with two external 22inch monitors if i need the extra screen space
  • the mbp are already expensive to begin with and as an user who doesn't really need all this power, but just likes tech, the money savings is good for me.
